How to Play

HUD Interface

AI Toggle: Click the robot icon to switch between playing against the CPU or a local friend (PvP).

Restart: Resets the board to the starting setup immediately.

Tutorial: Reopens this rules guide anytime you need a refresher.

Share: Capture your final board state and victory message to share with others.

The Goal: Checkmate

You win by putting the enemy Wizard Elder in Checkmate. This means the Elder is under attack ("Check") and has no way to escape on their next move. Use coordinate labels (A-H, 1-8) around the board to track piece positions.

Special Pieces

Small Dragon Moves 1 space forward/diagonal. If paths are blocked, it can jump over pieces. On capture, it spawns a second Small Dragon!

Large Dragon Infinite movement. It can only jump over pieces if moving an even number of spaces, and capture if moving an odd number.

Wizard & Young Wizard Diagonal moves. The Wizard sets a spell range on its first move; Young Wizards are restricted to range 3. Young Wizards cannot be captured if standing next to a Wizard!

Wizard Elder (The Leader) Moves 1 square normally. If alone or in check, his speed increases to 2 squares.

Outlaw Infinite movement. High risk! If an Outlaw ends two consecutive turns next to an enemy, they are automatically captured.

Select the distance for this Wizard's magic spell capture.
